Straffer als het Erdener Treppchen gaat het niet worden. Stokoude Rieslingwingerds wortelen er zich een weg diep in de rode leisteenrots. De berg voedt en beschut.
Geen andere wijn levert zoveel synthese van deze uitzonderlijke omstandigheden aan de Moesel.

Parker: The 2023 Riesling Trocken is sourced in own, steep blue-gray slate vineyards in Erden and a beautifully round, lush and savory Riesling that doesn't taste as bone dry as the gures could make you think. This is a pure and crunchy yet mouth-lling dry Riesling with generous and juicy fruit and a long, saline and crunchy nish.

R.Parker: 94/100 The 2023 Lösnicher Försterlay Riesling –GG– is from a vineyard adjacent to the Erdener Treppchen and based on blue and gray slate soils with quartzite. Bottled with less than one gram per liter of residual sugar, this is an intense, clear and precise, savory and elegant, very nessed Riesling with crunchy slate grip and the vitality and nervousness of the quartzite. Hermann holds 2.8 of the 9.4 hectares of this underrated cru that is also cultivated by Molitor and Loosen on a top level. Just one fuder was made (1,300 bottles). 12% stated alcohol. Tasted at the domaine from AP 31 24 in January 2025.
R.Parker: 94/100 From seven hectares (of the total of 36 hectares), the 2023 Erdener Treppchen Riesling –GG– is clear and smoky on the deep, rened and aromatic, pretty intense and concentrated, a little untamed nose with discreet honey aromas. Round, rened and elegant on the palate, this is a silky, intense and saline as well as savory and persistently intense and crunchy Riesling with serious grip and complexity paired with elegance and purity. The 2023 Treppchen is an impressive, age-worthy wine. 12% stated alcohol.
R.Parker: 93/100 From the GG plots but picked about two weeks earlier than the grand cru, the 2023 Erdener Treppchen Riesling Kabinett –6– opens with bright lychee and aromatic black tea aromas. Round and generous on the palate, this is a savory, light and seriously mineral Treppchen with a stimulating grippy nish.
